color test for c033, flats and shadows, no effects or lighting.

Pretty sure that’s going to be a pit of some sort in the center, though I don’t think we’ve decided what’s down there.

Are Brutes the ones that go “wort-wort-wort”?

Line test for c033, Church enters the tower.

Under blind impulse we decided to drop in a Brute, just to break it up a bit. It gives us something to look at besides the rope during the beat. The head action is variable so we can adjust it to whatever sound that Brutes make. He was designed on-board from referencing the action figure, and I don’t believe he’ll appear again in any other cut, but let us know if there’s anything drastic we missed.

Really, I just like the Gravity Hammer.

Alllllmost there…

-EDIT-

Sequence complete, at least in “pencil test” form.

Rope definitely belongs on the top ten list of Most Irritating Things To Animate.

Mixed keys and roughs for the first half of c031.

Cut 031 marks the longest single sequence of unique frames through the set, leaving very little room to take any shortcuts. It’s not the most complicated (I think that goes to the Grunt lunchroom, which has more active characters in a single shot than any other cut) but it’s probably one of the more difficult and time-consuming sequences of the lot.

Winding up for this series of cuts. Should this hallway be populated with bad guys? It might be difficult to fit ‘em in with all the floorspace he covers at such a speed…

Just ’cause it still gives me a grin.

Finished lines for c039. We wonder if we shouldn’t add a Grunt or two in the background cheering on the beating, but it might be better to have it down to the last two Grunts…

finished keys for c021, cleaned up Church and added some more to his path down the pipe, and inserted the Grunt’s weapon bouncing away. Click for the up-res version. This sequence moves on to some minor tweens and then to flats.

In this line test of cut C017, the grunts in the foreground have been tween’d.  Some of the background grunts still need a couple tweens.
