Price as he leaves the factory. By keeping his motion slow and his feet on the ground even as he moves, we get the old-man-shuffle appropriate for his state of being after a near-collapse during the board meeting.
An early, early edit of the latest Joe is Japanese episode’s audio. Normally we don’t post WIP that are this early on, but Joe really wanted to hear what a mPUA he is. This takes place on an airplane as Joe & Miyuki sit two seats andan aisleapart… That fact will not deter them from some flirty talk. The reactions of the other passengers trapped between them should be priceless (as soon as we actually find the moment to record them). Quicktime after the jump with BOTH english and Japanese subtitles.
There is a fair amount to note before watching this version…
For example there’s the fact that there is a repeated line by Church (that needs to be replaced by an equally germane line in either spot). But hey… we can review those notes a latter point, now let’s just watch some sweet gun play. And rocket barefoot skiing. And some grunt groin grabbing.
Ahh, the updated rocket launcher. This seems like a good way to get somewhere fast. We’re thinking the cord will be dangling out of the barrel… kinda Wiley Coyote style
Another unmade animatic. We jumped up and down on the table to try and get the suits to run with these out there ideas… but only found dead silence. This is an old one, but it is a great demonstration of how we make an animatic in less than a day.
Another character splash from Fates in-house project, Joe is Japanese, the enigmatic Mister Mountain. As with most all of the Joe character shots, I was trying to be all metaphorical… Yama-sama is calm and cool under fire, contemplative but capable of powerful action…
But if anyone could trim bonsai while performing crane kata and dodging arrows, it might be Mountain.
You like the flag at all? I was being expirmental and trying to go for a bit of quick sumi-e style watercolor effect, basically using the smear tool a good bit.
At any rate, we got the last bit of sound recording for Joe 3 done. There’s a bit of dialogue sync to be assembled still, and that should be it. Be on the lookout.
An early, early pencil test stage edit for a project about two rival composers in a strange universe where the only form of artistic expression is musical. It does have some damn good lip sync animation in it if we can say so ourselves…
We made this thinking it was time for a real ‘tweens kid’s show that was hip and urban without being crappy. The soundtrack is something we are quite proud of as it was crafted by BC from RedTide and eFFex star of ebaumsworld.
